Why are career/childfree women stereotyped against?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_Sze7R2uSE

This video provoked me to ask this question. I hate this guy.

As a guy, I think a career/childfree woman is my kind of soulmate. Why are career/childfree women stereotyped against? Why does it seem like they have it hard the most? Why are career/childfree women stereotyped against?
i couldn't get the link, why can't you people just WRITE what it is you disagree with rather than posting these damn links all the time, half of them don't work.

if you want a career/childfree woman, then I don't think anyone is trying to stop you finding one. At least you don't expect a woman to have a career AND raise a family as well, which is what most men seem to expect nowadays.

I don't think career/childfree women do have it hard. To me, it seems quite sensible that if you want a career you don't have children, 'juggling' has never seemed an appealing option to me at all. a recipe for total exhaustion, in my opinion.

However, bear in mind that a lot of women who want to be childfree also want to be husbandfree ';He travels fastest who travels alone, and that goes double for women'; as Florence King put it.

For most people, getting married and having a family go together, and so you may have to shop around a bit before you find a woman who wants to be both married and childless. Good luck. Why are career/childfree women stereotyped against?
Because society has yet to catch up to the idea that some women are taking marriage and motherhood off the menu.

To those who insist that women must choose: This is exactly the kind of mentality that keeps feminism alive today. Millions of women have refused to choose and they are leading wonderful, though tiring, lives, as are their children.
I think it's a real shame that they are - I stay at home with my children, and will fiercely defend my choice to do so, but if a woman would rather work and forge a career (without children) then all respect to her. It's tough to make it in a society dominated by men.

Women who try to have both career and family however, are pushing their luck (note ';career';, not part time job for extra cash). You have children, you raise them yourself, or don't have any. A woman (and a man for that matter) must make the choice - children OR high powered career... not both
I did'nt finish seeing the clip on Youtube - surprised to see so many racist, sexist vids though - my watching on youtube is limited - I guess.

Well, Answer: I'm from Denmark where housewives are a very very rare sight. This is the other way around, here you would shake your head and ask why on EARTH a woman would choose NOT to have a career. Both things doesn't matter s**t. The important thing is to be and do what makes you happy - no matter what. Cos everyone gets stereotyped, and it's so important as an individual to know how to break free and not care about those boxes that society, magazines and ';smart'; people try to put us all in- Greetings from a danish career/childfree woman ;-)
The only stereo type that I was aware of was maybe the ruthless one and the one when they hit there 30's they become baby obsessed....

If someone chooses not to have children or to have a professional career that is there choice no one else's.

People who are good at there job should be commended not ridiculed because of some's backwards thinking.
Rightly or wrongly, some people believe that a woman's first priority should be raising a family. In fact, there seems to be a general feeling among American women that it is a kind of personal failure if a woman doesn't have children.
why are moms who have careers and children looked down on? why can't you have both?

xai: for someone who will ';defend to the death'; your rights, you sure are quick to judge and put down someone else and their decisions.
The problem is that the majority of people don't understand the concept of 'Alpha Female'.
When you consider that 85% of women go on to become mothers, its just a little odd. But to each her own.
Because no man wants to hear her complain about her job woes.
