How are considered childfree in your country ?

%26amp; what about sterilisation utilised like contraception (I'm wondering that because in France, it's hard to obtain)...How are considered childfree in your country ?
In America there are plenty of birth control methods that are available. Sterilization is not an option here unless you have a health problem or you have a certain number of children and are over a certain age.

Peace, Love %26amp; HappinessHow are considered childfree in your country ?
The poster above (latj) is completely wrong. You only have to be 18 to be sterilized in all 50 US states. You need not be married, and if you are you are not required to have the permission of your spouse. You are also not required by law to disclose the fact that your are sterile to anyone. Anyone that tells you it is hard to get sterilized under the age of 25 with no children has not bothered to try. I know a lot of men that had vasectomies under the age of 25 with no children (myself included).

Being child-free is much more accepted in my families home country (Germany), than in the USA were I live.
Sterilization is difficult to get for young women with no kids. For men it's somewhat easier. Childfree people are becoming more accepted all the time, but there is still plenty of discrimination and criticism.
